Monitoring & Evaluation

Cholmandalam Investment and Finance company (CIFCL) recognised the need for a comprehensive Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) study to improve the the effectiveness of their “My Dream Scholarship” programme which aims to provide financial support for furthering the education of commercial vehicle crew member’s children.

Our study involved an in-depth analysis of the shortlisting process, disbursement process, and ongoing documentation for a random sample of beneficiaries.

Through this M&E study, we identified the areas where the programme could be made more effective. We carefully evaluated the programme’s performance, looking at the key metrics to highlight the strengths and areas of improvement. We assessed the programme’s effectiveness in achieving its immediate goals and making a positive impact on the lives of the scholarship recipients. Overall, our M&E study provided CIFCL with valuable insights and recommendations for optimizing the “My Dream Scholarship” programme.

Impact Assessment

CIFCL needed to conduct Impact Assessment studies on 12 of their CSR programs implemented during the FY2021-22. The main objective of the assessment was to provide the sponsor with a comprehensive understanding of the impact generated by these programmes and offer guidance for future improvement and implementation of similar programmes.

To achieve this objective, the study involved in-depth interactions with the programme implementing partners to gain insights into the processes followed to achieve the programme objectives. We designed research tools to interview select beneficiaries and other stakeholders, enabling us to collect data on the direct and indirect effects of the programs.

Based on the data collected, comprehensive reports for each programme were prepared with detailed analysis of the impact generated and recommendations on the conduct of the programs and changes to be considered in future iterations.
